international school autumn 26 FINAL

including local Swiss schools, the process begins with the family’s first enquiry. We invite them to visit, offer taster days and introduce students to their future classmates and the English curriculum, helping them become familiar with their new environment before they start. We don’t rush this process. The first month is particularly important, and our admissions team, transition team, Head of Secondary and I stay in close contact with families to make sure each child is settling in well. Our priority is that children feel happy, comfortable and supported. Once they have that sense of security and belonging, they can focus on their learning and begin to thrive. GES has recently joined Inspired Education Group. What opportunities does this create for the school? GES and Inspired Education Group share a strong commitment to academic excellence and high aspirations for every student. Joining the group gives us access to greater resources, infrastructure and investment, providing a strong foundation for the school’s future development. It also opens valuable opportunities for our teachers to connect with colleagues across an international network of schools,

exchange ideas and learn from educators working with different curricula and approaches. For our students and families, this means we can continue to develop and enrich the educational experience at GES while preserving what makes our school special: the individual attention, close relationships and supportive community that are central to who we are. Finally, what would you most like families considering GES to take away from this conversation? First, that every child and every family is known by name. That personal connection is fundamental to who we are. Second, that we have high academic aspirations for every student. We work hard to ensure that each child makes progress, builds on their strengths and achieves their potential. And finally, that GES is a happy place to learn, where children feel supported and enjoy coming to school. Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents make, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Above all, we want families to look back on their decision to join GES and feel that it was a positive and rewarding choice for their child.

children from a wide range of backgrounds and educational experiences. Taking the time to get to know each student helps us understand their individual needs, recognise their strengths and support them in fulfilling their potential. That personal approach extends to families, too. Our teachers and leadership team are accessible to parents, whether they have a question, need advice or simply want to discuss how their child is getting on. We understand that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents make, and we take that responsibility seriously. Moving schools can be a significant transition, particularly for families arriving from abroad or moving from the Swiss system. How does GES support students through that process? The key is careful preparation and close communication between our teachers, pastoral team and families. For students moving from primary to secondary school, one of the biggest changes is the shift from having one main class teacher to working with several subject specialists. Close collaboration between our primary and secondary teachers helps us support children through this transition. For those joining us from other schools,
